David Ross Pwerle

David Ross Pwerle was born in 1935 and spent most of his younger years working on stations around the MacDonald ranges. Moving to the remote Utopia communities near the Sandover River after his marriage, he is responsible for ritual knowledge as a senior law man of the eastern Anmatyerre skin group. His paintings and printmaking closely respond to the early works of the Pintupi artists in their simplicity of form and controlled palette. David has participated in several important exhibitions and is represented in most major public collections.
