Community Cars and Claypans

15/07/2010 to 01/08/2010

Gecko Gallery in association with Iwantja Arts presents new paintings by Sadie Singer.
Sadie is from Indulkana, South Australia and is a highly individual artist. In two distinctly different styles she has expressed aspects of her community in contemporary terms. Her Claypan paintings translate the curled dry mud and the passing of bullocks, while her memories of childhood fun in the community cars have resulted in a unique series that unconsciously draws on pop art while retaining the artist\'s intention to record memories of her youth.
