Swamp and Rockhole site
This painting depicts designs associated with the swamp and rockhole site of Palipalintja, just west of Jupiter Well in Western Australia. In mythological times a large group of Tingari Men camped at this site before travelling south, then turning east passing through Wala Wala, Kiwirkurra and later north-east to Tarkul and Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay). Since events are of a secret nature, no further detail was given.

Charlie Tjapangati commenced painting for Papunya Tula Artists in 1978 as one of the original group of men associated with Geoffrey Bardon at the community of Papunya. In 1999 he contributed to the Kintore men's painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal. Using a limited palette and fine dotted lines, his paintings create an undulating, optical impression of the tali (sandhills) and important sites or waterholes.
