Ngurlu Jukurrpa
This Jukurrpa is associated with a place called Jaralypari, north of Yuendumu. Lukarrara is species of grass that bears edible seeds 'ngurlu' in the wintertime. The seeds are traditionally ground on a large stone 'puturlu' with a smaller stone 'ngalikirri' to make flour. This flour is mixed with water 'ngapa' to make small seed cakes
The fine field of dots that spread over the surface of the canvas represent the grass seeds that the women collect.
