Ceremony Site of Watulka

This painting depicts an important Rockhole and Ceremony site near Wilkinkarra (Lake MacKay) about 70km to the west of the Kintore community. The Roundel at the centre is the rockhole and the intersecting lines represent the sand hills surrounding the area. In mythological times, an old woman passed through thsi site during her travels towards the east. The curved motifs are the women whose bodies are painted for performing the ceremonies that are specific to this site.
